Mami and Shien!

This is how I love to travel - by meeting people and connecting. I am so lucky to be alive and have this life! Mami spent 6 months in the US last year - she spent 3 months in Boston playing with our group. She is from the group Shien in Kyoto. They have a student group and a performing group. We found out that one Kodo member and three apprentices came from Shien. We were eager to meet them.

Mami suggested that we rent bicycles to get around town!

Victoria Swisher joined us! She was one to the KASA Mix participants from Maryland. We traveled with her from JFK and she happened to also be staying a week later in Kyoto. We are so glad she joined us. Shien asked us to play with them so we played miyake with them and our version of Hiryu Sandan Gaeshi so Beth, Joy and I played for them. They loved it.
