Kyoto!!

We have been having fun goofing around in Kyoto. Beths friend Yoko has been so sweet to us. Shes been our tour guide and has been helping us navigate around this wonderful city. Beth, Joy, and Matt have done some sightseeing and today we got to see Chie for lunch - one of the KASA mix organizers, it was fun to see her after being together on Sado. She took us to a wonderful soba place and we got to catch up on the last couple of days. Victoria joined us for the day - its been fun to have her pop in and out - every time we leave her I think its the last time to see her but then I remember - oh yeah, see you on the airplane!

Were eating a lot of yummy food - here we are having a local speciality. Its fun to see Joy in Kyoto - she loves it here - she is quite bouncy.



We have taken more pictures of food than anything else - its so interesting and fun to eat.




Yoko describes what we eat. She is very funny. She thinks I am obessed with ice cream. I have no idea what she is talking about.






After dinner we walked around a bit -- I love the 100¥ SHOP! We found a few people holding FREE HUGS signs so Yoko and I went up and got hugs! They said they were doing it just for fun. Then we made friends with one of the street artists. He is a calligrapher - it took a while to explain what we were doing in Japan but once he figured out we were taiko players he said he always wanted to collaborate with drummers - or at least thats what I thought he said. He asked if we were on Facebook - are we on Facebook?? need he ask??
